Peace Connect 2025

The moment

Peace Connect is Peace Direct’s global gathering for local peacebuilders and their allies. In October 2025 it brought 547 people from around the world to Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi for four days centred on dialogue, healing and working together for peace.

Designed for connection, not just content

Plenary sessions and breakout discussions sat alongside activities that gave people room to connect and reflect. Delegates painted a collaborative peace mural together, learned to weave sisal baskets in the gardens and walked an outdoor photo exhibition. Drumming and dance broke up the sessions, and delegates shared performances from their own traditions on stage.

Wellbeing was part of the plan from the start. Psychologists were on site throughout to support delegates’ mental health, prayer rooms were set aside, and a rest and excursion day gave everyone time to recharge.

Nairobi as host

The setting did a lot of the work: Safari Park’s gardens, a kitenge-dressed stage and colour-coded wayfinding built on painted drums. Branding was designed to be sustainable and to reflect the client’s values, and the whole experience carried Nairobi’s warmth while running to international standards.

Nine months for four days

Over nine months of planning, Waridi managed the whole event: the budget, work plan and event theme, site visits and space layouts, technical checks, vendor sourcing and contracting, accommodation, airport arrivals and transfers, venue management, branding design and production, risk assessment, rehearsals, set-up, registration, guest management, production and post-event reporting, working closely with the Peace Connect organising committee throughout.
